Motorola W270
Motorola is about to launch a provocative mobile handset of Motorola W270, which will definitely be going to bewitch the large segment of mobile users towards itself with its outstanding features.
The Motorola W270 looks like a pretty basic clamshell phone - the small 128 x 128 pixel CSTN display marks this out as a very inexpensive device, and the no-frill cameraless exterior is reminiscent of the sub-£50 / €75 Motorola W220. It comes as a bit of a surprise then to see that the Motorola W270 not only comes with an MP3 player, but it supports expandable memory of up to 2GB. The W270 also features an FM radio, and music can be played either through a wired headset or the W270’s internal loudspeaker.
1. This splendorous mobile phone of colorful CSTN display of 65K colors is especially fabricated to coruscate up your life vividly.
2. Motorola W270 is a lightweight handset of 94g, which is equipped with a 2G network of GSM 900/1800 and GSM 850/1900 in order to maintain fortifying connectivity at each corner of the globe.
3. It will be launched in two glistening shades of Silver and Dark Titanium Gray to arrest the attention of the viewers at its first look.
4. One of the most spellbinding features of this engrossing presentation of Motorola is its embedded MP3 player which is capable of playing your favorite music tracks in variant formats including iMelody, MIDI, MP3, and AMR.
5. Its Standard Battery of Li-Ion of 940 mAh is capable to deliver a surmounting talktime of 9 hours and a standby of 450 hours to enable communication with your near and dears for longer hours.
6. Not only this, there is also a provision of browsing internet and that too while on your move via its unique technology of WAP 2.0/xHTML.
Other features are few and far between - this is a dual-band GSM phone (available in 900/1800 or 850/1900 MHz versions), with GPRS data (but no EDGE). There is a WAP browser, and the W270 can be connected up to a PC with a USB cable. A clue as to the potential market for the W270 is in the supported languages, many of which are from Africa or South Asia. The W270 does not support Bluetooth. Motorola say that the W270 weighs between 88 and 94 grams, the variance perhaps partly due to the presence or not of a microSD card. Overall measurements are 95 x 45 x 17mm.
The Motorola W270’s battery life is pretty impressive - the 940mAh BQ50 battery provides up to 9 hours talktime and almost 19 days standby time.
This is quite an interesting phone - Motorola are not alone in thinking that there is a market for basic handsets with strong music capabilities. If you can live with what will be a pretty poor screen, then the W270 looks like being potentially a very inexpensive way to get music on the move. Motorola say that the W270 should be available during Q1 2008, but did not give any guidance on pricing.
