Bluetooth headset Motorola H780

While Motorola’s cell phone division is struggling, it seems their accessories people are busy churning out awesome Bluetooth headsets like the H780. This small headset is rather stylish, in a robotic, overly metal sort of way. The Motorola H780 ships with an AC charger and a few spare ear pieces, but then again, little more is needed. As with most new Motorola accessories, the H780 uses a standard micro-USB port for charging, which means you can also use a standard micro-USB cord to charge from your laptop, if necessary.

The Motorola H780 is small, but laden with a total of 5 buttons, if you count both the volume up and down. The outside of the headset is where you’ll find the multifunction button, as well as a tiny, nearly impossible-to-press Noise Cancellation button, which allows you to toggle noise cancellation on and off. I can’t quite understand why you would want to disable such a handy feature, but if you do, it’s possible. Along the right side of the device is where you’ll find the volume rocker, as well as the dedicated power switch. This little switch shows orange when the headset is in the ‘off’ position, so that you can easily determine what state the headset is currently in. The multicolored LED notification light is located on the underbelly of the H780, at the tip closest to your mouth. Read the rest of this entry »

Today Sony Ericsson officially unveiled the W705 Walkman phone and MBS-900 stereo Bluetooth speakers, just as we posted yesterday, in conjunction with the MTV Europe Music Awards where the Swedish-Japanese handset maker is one of the main sponsors.

The W705 is one of those devices bound to be one of the top selling feature phones. Specs wise there’s a WiFi connectivity support, HSDPA, 2.4-inch screen, accelerometer, 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio with TrackID, and a whole lot more. The handset will be available in three “flavors” - W705 for Europe and Asia, W705a for North America, and W705u for Orange. The first two version will come in “Luxury Silver” and “Passionate Red,” while Orange’s version will have a color of its own.
As for the speakers, the Wireless Home Audio System MBS-900 is a stereo Bluetooth (A2DP) speaker, which features a “unique and innovative design” and 2.1 audio for a “complete audio experience.” Other specs include a 3.5mm line-in, built-in FM receiver that allows users to listen to the radio independently of the phone, dedicated music-control touch keys and a monochrome OLED display. In other words, it can play your phone’s music while the cellphone works as a remote.

To get a better sense of scale, the systems’s diameter is just shy of eight inches. It packs a 2.1 speaker system (2×10W and 20W subwoofer) that can play audio from FM or 3.5mm jack when your phone isn’t around. It also doubles as a speaker phone that auto-mutes as calls come in. Jabra JX20

Given the huge past success of the Jabra JX10 I have to admit that I was rather excited at the opportunity to get my hands on one of the very first new high-end Jabra JX20 PURA Titanium Edition headsets to arrive in the US.

As with the JX10, the Jabra JX20 has been designed by the famous scandinavian Jacob Jensen design house who have focused on delivering a “luxury” product and a “premium experience” through the use of very clean and delicate lines as well as the titanium front plate and an “intelligent” rather gorgeous desk charger (pictured above).

There’s no doubt that the Jabra JX20 looks extremely good – it’s very small (only 1.5” / 4cm long), very light (only 12 grams / 0.42 oz) and rather comfortable to wear as a result. There’s also the fact that it offers an innovative On/Off switch (pictured above) that allows you to preserve battery life by simply rotating the main speaker when not in use and conveniently has a built-in microUSB charging connector which is ideal for current Treo 800w and Treo Pro owners. Nokia recently launched the BH-804, a rather fetching, minimal Bluetooth headset that comes with a neckstrap and charging pod, and due to drop before the end of the year. Pretty simple-looking deal with just two buttons, but if it’s not your cup of tea, why not enter Nokia’s Almighty Headset Competition and get Nokia to actually make the craziest Bluetooth headphones you can cook up. Just chose from one of the existing stereo headset models and get cracking. Oh man, it’ll be hard getting any work done today with something like this to play with…
