Only three days after launching the Samsung Eternity, AT&T has released another new Windows Mobile smartphone, this time made by LG.

LG Incite is the new handset and, like Eternity, it runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and features a 240 x 400 pixels TFT touchscreen display (only a bit smaller: 3 inches, as opposed to the 3.2 inches of Samsung Eternity’s screen).

Available in the US exclusively from AT&T, the new WM handset from LG has a simple but quite unique design. It has only two hardware buttons on the front, the rest of them being arranged on the sides. The specs of LG Incite include: Read the rest of this entry »

Far from being another 8-megapixel cameraphone, the LG KC780 also features the following: Read the rest of this entry »

LG KC560

Posted by: rubbi

Posted in: LG

This is a fairly standard GSM-only multimedia phone, with a QVGA display, 3 megapixel camera
, FM radio, microSD expandable memory, a multimedia player that supports MP3, MPEG4, Windows Media and AAC variants, plus Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0 connectivity. At a LG KC560 recommended price of around 9000 rubles (approximately €260) the KC560 is more expensive than the better specified KC550. Presumably all that yellow metal styling makes it cost more.

One innovative feature is the control wheel on the right hand side that changes the KC560 between difference profiles depending on your environment. For example, the “club” profile makes the KC560 louder, have more impressive backlighting and stronger vibration. Anyone who has struggled with 6 layers of menu options on some rival phones might appreciate the simplicity.
Markets around the world differ, so you can’t blame LG for coming up with a handset that will be popular in some markets and considered tasteless in others. Russia is a market where the KC560 might do well, and it should be available there during November 2008. Read the rest of this entry »

LG has quietly released a new affordable clamshell, the LG KP152. For the moment, the handset officially appears only on the LG Brazil website, but it’s said it will be released in Europe too – in Russia for the beginning, starting this month.

LG KP152 is surely an elegant device. Unfortunately, its features are not at all ones to crave for.

The phone might represent the beginning of LG’s new campaign to conquer emerging markets with basic devices.
LG KP152 will have a retail price of somewhere around $100. As seen in the images above, the clamshell will have at least two color versions: red and black.
Here are the main specs and capabilities of LG KP152: Read the rest of this entry »

LG KC780 to be launched soon

Posted by: tanti

Posted in: LG

LG Electronics is back again with a with yet another 8 megapixel shooter in the form of the LG KC780. This slim handset concentrates mostly on digital photography (and basic communications) as its strongest suite, so if you’re looking for an all rounder cell phone, you can give the LG KC780 a pass. First of all, I must note that the 13.9mm thickness is rather fetching, and despite its apparent slimness, LG managed to squeeze in a 2.4? widescreen LCD display (perfect to capture those portrait shots) and a Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens that is able to shoot high quality photos that will surely amaze you at first glance.

One of the smart technologies found in the LG KC780 is Face Detection, and this will automatically find and focus on people’s faces so that the photographer is able to capture clearer portrait shots. In addition, LG’s Smile Detection technology is smart enough to recognize the angle of people’s mouths and adjust focus for faces. Good to see such features appear on a cell phone, where they were once the domain of dedicated digital cameras. While the LG KC780 won’t have the full functionality of a digital camera, it has enough to make this function as a backup just in case your primary shooter dies due to lack of battery or some other unfortunate inconvenience. You will be able to choose from automatic modes, a Beauty Mode that removes spots and imperfections on people’s faces, high ISO 1600, SmartLight setting for optimal brightness settings and an integrated Image Stabilizer. LG KS500

Posted by: rubbi

Posted in: LG

It’s a bit of an oddity in our opinion, as the KS500 is very similar in specification to the existing KT520 slider, which also has HSDPA and a slighly better camera. One immediately obvious thing is just how small the screen looks - although we don’t have the exact specification of the KS500 we think that this is only a 2″ display which we would certainly consider to be undersized.

At the moment, we don’t have any further details. We guess that the price will be a little cheaper than the KT520 which currently retails for about £180 / €220 or so SIM free.

LG PRADA II (LG KF900)

Posted by: rubbi

Posted in: LG

The original LG PRADA phone (the KE850) was a very compact touchscreen phone announced at roughly the same time as the original iPhone. During the time it has been on sale, the KE850 has sold over a million units, which is not bad for what many consider to be just a fashion phone. Time does not stand still, and LG have announced a follow-up, the LG KF900 which we may as well call the LG PRADA II or “new PRADA”. And although it looks very similar to the original PRADA, the PRADA II is a very much more sophisticated handset.

One possibly controversial feature is likely to be the slide-out QWERTY keyboard - the original PRADA phone didn’t have one, and it didn’t need one as it filled its own market niche. But LG have produced several touchscreen phones since the PRADA, and surprisingly the KF900 / PRADA II is their only touchscreen device with such a keyboard in the range. So, we can tell straight away that the KF900 isn’t aimed at quite the same market as the old KE850. Read the rest of this entry »
