Posted in: Sanyo

The Sanyo SCP-2400 was announced by Sprint today. While it looks like a conventional Sanyo flip phone, the SCP-2400 has parental control options that make its target age in the 8-12 range. The controls make it easy to set which calls the handset can make or receive. Data services can also be disabled to avoid suprise charges.

A fantastic cell phone we have evaluated is the Sanyo SCP-2400, a phone that was conceived to compete a very competitive market. Unveiled around 01/4/2006 the SCP-2400 functions under the networks AMPS 800 / CDMA 800 / 1900. Having a dimension of only 84 x 46 x 26 mm and weighting only 99 g, this phone has a perfect design. A cool thing of the Sanyo SCP-2400 is the speaker phone, being a useful tool anywhere! The nice screen of this cell phone lets you insert wallpapers of 128 x 160 px. Sanyo has created its SCP-2400 with a 32 chords ringtone player, ready for you to add tons of ringers. Read the rest of this entry »

Sanyo built the SCP-8400 with a 72 chords ringtone ringer, ready for you to add several ringtones. If you love to skin your phone you will be happy the SCP-8400 has customizable themes enabled. The gaming engine Sanyo SCP-8400 is based on J2ME, which supports many fun games! Not surprisingly, since it is now standard in all phones, the SCP-8400 enables both SMS and EMS. You also have MMS messages enabled to send all multimedia files! The predictive text system exploits the T9 technology, being a top system for easy using.

The Sanyo SCP-8400 mobile phone will very soon be available on the US network Sprint. This one too is a part of the SANYO’s “go-to” camera phone line up and has all the features which any self-respecting phone of 2006 would include like Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel camera, high-resolution QVGA internal screen, music player, memory card slot and access to Sprint Power Vision(SM) Network. An outstanding phone we had a look at is the Sanyo SCP-8400, a phone that was conceived to rival this year’s market.

The Pro-200 and the Pro-700 have essentially the same features, with different designs. The Pro-700 is the bulkier of the two, because it is clad in a rugged exterior built to military standards. Aside from push-to-palk capabilities, the Pro-700 has Bluetooth, built-in GPS, a speakerphone, and EV-DO Rev. A. The Pro-700 is definitely built to withstand the elements, and is slightly more expensive than the Pro-200 at $69.99 with a new two-year service agreement. The key difference between the Pro-200 and the Pro-700 is in design. The Pro-700 is clad in a rubberized shell and is definitely ruggedized for the great outdoors. It’s built to military standards, meaning it will withstand dust, shock, and vibration. However, it’s not water resistant. Measuring 4 inches long by 1.8 inches wide by 0.8 inch thick, the Pro-700 is only a slightly bigger than the Pro-200, and weighs a bit more at 3.8 ounces. Thanks to the rubber exterior, the Pro-700 has a very nice feel in the hand, with a good solid grip. Unlike the Pro-200, the Pro-700 is clad in almost all black, except for a silver chrome border around the external display. Read the rest of this entry »

Sanyo M1

The Sanyo M1 is a multimedia oriented phone with an impressive 1GB of internal storage for music and pictures. The M1 is a mid range phone that packs some impressive features into the small case; just 0.9 inches thick. However, the phone body is not as small or stylish as the Razr thin phones that are dominating this section of the cell phone market. But the feature set is most definitely not on the thin side: as well as the 1GB of memory, there’s a a 2 megapixel autofocus camera on board. We test noise by shooting a variety of images in light conditions ranging from 3000 lux (a  bright, sunny day) to 60 lux (about what you would get in a darkened room with a single light), then running the captured images through imatest, which analyzes areas of the image for noise.
